Linh Mục Mưu Sát Giáo Hoàng

Dziwisz, hiện

Vào ngày 12
tháng năm 1982, trong một cuộc viếng thăm Fatima ở Bồ Đào Nha, trong lúc

Aide Reveals: Pope John
Paul Wounded by Priest in 1982

The former top aide to deceased Pope John Paul said in
a documentary recently produced that the Pope was wounded by a Priest
carrying a knife in 1982, one year after he was shot in a failed
assassination attempt.
Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz also told the producers that
the late pope told his closest aides at the moment when he had trouble
speaking that the time had come for him to die.
Dziwisz is now cardinal of Krakow, Poland. He was,
however, Pope John Paul’s ‘private secretary and closest aide for nearly 40
years.’
The title of the documentary is “Testimony” and is
narrated by British actor Michael York. It will make its official premiere
in the Vatican on Thursday. John Paul’s successor, Pope Benedict, will
attend the premiere.
‘On May 12, 1982, the pope was visiting the shrine city
of Fatima in Portugal to give thanks for surviving a first assassination
attempt a year earlier on May 13, 1981, when he was shot in St Peter’s
Square by Turkish gunman Mehmet Ali Agca.
A crazed ultra-conservative Spanish priest, Juan
Fernandez Krohn, lunged at the pope with a dagger and was knocked to the
ground by police and arrested. The fact that the knife actually reached the
pope and cut him was not known until now,’
the Associated Press reported.
“I can now reveal that the Holy Father was wounded.
When we got back to the room (in the Fatima sanctuary complex) there was
blood,” Dziwisz says in the documentary.
Amazingly, Pope John Paul ignored the wound and did not
tell anyone about it, until he arrived in his private quarters. He simply
carried on with the trip.
The Spanish priest was arrested and imprisoned for
several years in a Portuguese prison.
The documentary seems to give more information about
who Pope John Paul was, what he stood for, and how he behaved in times of
crisis. He could, of course, have publicized the attack, and made himself
into some kind of hero, but he did not do so. He carried on with his tasks
as usual, carrying the burden without informing anyone about it.
